100 Year-Old Wildwood Theater Gets New Life
The iconic Sea Theater in Wildwood, located at 4005 Pacific Avenue in Wildwood (between E. Spencer Ave. and E. Youngs Ave.), is over 100 years old. Sea Theater opened in the 1910s as a nickelodeon (a place to watch silent films), before being converted to a store, and eventually a place to watch movies.
The theater has been closed for over a decade, with various plans to refurbish it that never materialized. But that's about to change, and we have our first image of the new facade! The new name appears to be Old Movies By The Sea.
Wildwood's Pacific Avenue-area has seen tens of millions of dollars of redevelopment in recent years. With many original buildings being demolished to make way for modern amenities, the theater is a welcome preservation. Check it out in Summer 2023!
