Avalon’s Thanksgiving Weekend Events: Avalon’s annual Thanksgiving weekend festivities return with a schedule of events to entertain the entire family before and after the turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. Be sure to check out these fun family events and make plans to spend this holiday weekend at the shore!
Avalon Festival of Trees: Nov 26-29.Start the weekend by attending the annual Festival of Trees at The Whitebrier Restaurant starting on Wed, Nov 26 at 4 p.m. Trees and wreaths decorated by local businesses are up for silent auction. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be available for bidders, and the bidding will continue Friday and Saturday.
Annual Turkey Trot: Nov 28, 10am. Participants will travel through Avalon in a 5K and 1.5-mile walk perfect for a post-Thanksgiving calorie burn. Event benefits the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children.
Festive Friday: Nov 28, 11am-6pm. Embrace the holiday season with Festive Friday in Avalon! This event features more than 40 holiday activities for the entire family including ice skating, bounce houses, popular characters and holiday activities throughout the day. Avalon Mayor will welcome Santa Claus and light the holiday tree at 5pm.
Snowfest Saturday: Nov 29 11am-4pm. The Avalon field is transformed into a winter carnival and this family friendly holiday events features family-fun games, rides, activities, live entertainment and much more!
Cape May Holiday Crafts Fair: Nov 28-29. A must visit for those on your holiday gift lists. Shop for unique hand-made gifts and seasonal decorations. www.capemaymac.org
Cape May Physick Estate: Nov 21-23.Santa and his elves have decked out the Physick Estate with thousands of lights and holiday trimmings. Enjoy a wide variety of holiday tours and food and wine events to get you into the Christmas spirit. Enjoy Holiday Traditions through the Years, brings back happy childhood memories, capturing the feeling of Christmas past with model trains, a giant Christmas tree, toys and much more. Tree lighting and visit from Santa Nov. 22 at 7pm.
The Annual Holiday Wine Trail Weekend: Nov 28-30. The New Jersey wine industry celebrates the holiday season with food pairings, discounts, live entertainment, and special tastings statewide all weekend long.Visit participating wineries and receive a holiday grape vine wreath and decorative ornament. Patrons traveling the Holiday Trail will receive a wreath and ornament at the first winery they visit, and an ornament to decorate the wreath from each winery visited thereafter.Sip your way across NJ this weekend, and enjoy your holiday decoration for the rest of the season.
