Jersey Shore Valentine’s Day Guide
Love is in the air and there are plenty of ways to celebrate romance at the Jersey Shore, weather permitting. Here are just a few:
Cape May Wine School, Washington Inn, Cape May: The Washington Inn is one of my favorite Cape May Restaurants. Michael Craig offers a wonderful class where you’ll learn about Italian wines and foods to pair with them. Class is offered Sunday February 16, 1:00 p.m. The Washington Inn also offers a three course dinner for Valentine’s Day. Call for reservations (609) 884-5697
The Ebbitt Room Chef’s Tasting Dinner, Friday through Sunday: The Ebbitt at the Virginia Hotel is featuring a 4 course dinner for Valentine’s Day in one of the most elegant dining rooms in the state with live entertainment by Paul Sotille on piano. Highlights include: Cape May Salt oysters, salmon confit salad, root vegetable soup, parmesan gnocchi, miso cured duck breast with vanilla infused butternut squash, day boat swordfish, 24 hour braised short rib and a flourless chocolate mocha with Grand Marnier jam. Hawk Haven Wine & Chocolate Tasting, February 8, 9, 15, 16: Hawk Haven Vineyard & Winery in Rio Grande will be hosting a wine and chocolate tasting to celebrate Valentine’s Day. For one price you get wine, gourmet chocolates and a souvenir wine glass. There will also be a heated tent with gourmet cheeses, chocolate plates, wine flights, tapas from Chef Ryan Kennedy and live music. Call for reservations (609) 846-7347
The Blue Pig Tavern: Thursday-Monday, February 13-17. The Blue Pig features an a la carte menu with sweetheart specials for Valentine’s Weekend. Golden Inn, Oceanfront at 78th Street, Avalon offers a romantic Valentine’s Day package; chocolate covered strawberries, romantic dinner for two, champagne and rose petals with turndown service, Saturday breakfast for two, couples massage. Crafts and Antiques in Winter, Cape May Convention Hall: The region’s most sought-after antique dealers and craftspeople come together for a two-day show featuring a collection of handmade items, country antiques, glassware, silver, furniture.
