NJ State BBQ & Blues Championship, Fri-Sun, July 7-9, 2nd & Olde New Jersey Aves in North Wildwood
This event will feature the best BBQ food and blues music the region has to offer, and there is no admission charge! There will also be live cooking demonstrations. Friday is from 4-11pm, Saturday is from 10am-11pm, Sunday is from 10am-6pm.
Wildwood Crest Sand Sculpting Festival, Saturday, July 8, on the beach at Heather Ave
Grab your bucket and head down to this FREE event in Wildwood Crest. There will be professional sculptors building scenes you can hardly believe, and everyone is invited to sculpt themselves. Prizes will be awarded in numerous categories! Also, beach games, a magic show and live music. Rain or shine.
Thursdays on Dune, Thursday, July 6, 5:30-8:30pm, Avalon shopping district on Dune Dr.
This weekly, family-oriented event, held throughout the summer, offers up a different event each week from 5:30-7pm, and then a FREE concert from 7-8:30pm. This week's activities are centered around the theme of "Villain Takeover!". The band 40 North will perform.
Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Monday, July 10, 7pm
Friends and contemporaries of Bruce Springsteen, this band burst onto the Jersey Shore music scene in the mid-70's with their blend of rhythm and blues, blistering horns, groovy guitar and street level rock n' roll. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000.
Sidewalk Chalk Competition, Saturday, July 8, 9am
Held at Bill Henfey Park in North Wildwood, at 8th & Central Aves, this FREE event is open to all ages. Grab some chalk and decorate the sidewalk around the park. Compete for prizes or just for fun. Judging at 10:45am.
