A popular Jersey Shore town was named the country's top destination on the rise.

The Wildwoods were named the overall U.S. winner for TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice 2015 Destinations on the Rise awards finished ahead of Nags Head, N.C., Prescott, Ariz. and Telluride, Colo.

Wildwood's iconic boardwalk, waterpark and beaches were the top attractions mentioned in the report. TripAdvisor's ranking should be no surprise to New Jerseyans. Wildwood voted as one of the Garden State's top beaches in the New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium's annual survey.
